Police in Luwero, Savannah Region, are investigating a suspected cocoa theft that happened on January 6, 2025. It seems a big cargo of 23 tons of cocoa went lacking and ended up on the house of an area businessman.
The cocoa had began its journey from Bundibugyo on January 4th, and arrived in Luwero early within the morning of the sixth, round 6:00 am. Instead of reaching its meant vacation spot, the truck, a blue field physique, was allegedly diverted. Investigators imagine the transporters deliberate to promote the cocoa to 44-year-old Bisaso Eric at his house in Mabale Zone, Luwero.
Mr. Bisaso reportedly employed 42-year-old Katongole Jackson, an area loader from Kalongo Miti, to assist unload the large amount of cocoa.
So far, police have recovered 177 baggage of the stolen cocoa and are holding two suspects for questioning. The whole quantity of cocoa concerned within the suspected theft is estimated to be 23 tons.
