Kawempe North MP Muhammad Ssegirinya is dealing with a tricky scenario: he is being pressured out of his workplace due to an enormous lease hike that he and his staff consider is politically motivated.
Just after Christmas, on December twenty eighth, the owner immediately instructed Ssegirinya he needed to go away by January seventh. The lease had skyrocketed from 700,000 to a whopping 2 million Ugandan shillings a month! The landlord blamed it on greater property taxes, however Ssegirinya’s assistant, Alex Luswa Luwemba, says that is simply an excuse. They suspect somebody is making an attempt to sabotage the MP’s work.
“We got no time to determine issues out,” Luswa defined, highlighting the tough place they’re in. Ssegirinya’s staff has even uncovered proof suggesting political opponents and brokers is perhaps behind the eviction, probably as a result of the workplace’s location is so handy for individuals to succeed in him.
Despite this setback, Ssegirinya is not giving up. He’s decided to proceed serving his neighborhood and is actively in search of a brand new, extra inexpensive workplace, ideally round 400,000 shillings a month.
