The President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, Eddy Kenzo, has criticized the UNCC for banning performances by Gravity Omutujju and Lil Pazo.
Kenzo argued that the UNCC lacks the authority to impose such bans, which ought to fall beneath the jurisdiction of the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC).
“UNCC has no mandate to summon or ban artists from performing. They ought to have consulted the musicians’ management earlier than taking such actions. You can’t regulate somebody with out providing assist,” he acknowledged.
