The championship consists of Mountain Bike and Tipper Bike races at chiefdom and kingdom ranges, with prizes reminiscent of bicycles, money rewards (as much as UGX 4 million), and participation bonuses for all finishers.
MTN Uganda, in partnership with the Busoga Kingdom has introduced the launch of the 2nd Edition of the MTN Busoga Cycling Championship. Scheduled to start on January 18th, 2025, this 12 months’s championship goals to encourage males and boys to take the lead within the struggle towards teenage pregnancies beneath the theme: “Abasaadha Ne’Mpango” (Men Are the Pillars).
Building on the success of previous packages, MTN Uganda reaffirms its unwavering help for community-driven initiatives within the Busoga area. Last 12 months’s MTN Busoga Masaza Cup was a testomony to the highly effective position sports activities play in fostering unity, expertise growth, and social transformation throughout the Kingdom.

The launch of the championship was presided over by His Royal Highness William Kadhumbula Gabula Nadiope IV on the Bugembe Kingdom Headquarters. The championship will characteristic two classes of races—Mountain Bikes and Tipper Bikes—at each the chiefdom and kingdom ranges.
The chiefdom qualifiers will run from January 18 to February 14, 2025, culminating within the grand finals on February 15, 2025. Prizes for the finals embrace two bikes for the first-place winners, UGX 4 million for second place, and UGX 2 million for third place, amongst others.

There can even be participation bonuses for all riders who full the chiefdom qualifier races.
Reflecting on the championship’s theme, Owek Babirye Yudaya Kigenyi, Minister for Kyabazinga Affairs, remarked, “The Busoga Kingdom is proud to collaborate with MTN Uganda on this noble trigger. The theme ‘Men Are the Pillars’ underscores the pivotal position males and boys should play in nurturing households and safeguarding the way forward for our younger women. Let us come collectively as a neighborhood to champion this struggle towards teenage pregnancies.”
